Welcome New First Graders!

Welcome Bloggers (new and old) to my Blog for my first grade class at Franklin School. I am thrilled to be embarking on my seventh year of teaching! I had a fabulous first summer as a mom, and look forward to spending more time with my squeezable little girl, Marley, as I come back to teaching part time. I am thankful to be returning to Franklin with my amazing grade level "Partner in Crime," Mrs. Skarsten. We welcome the wonderful addition of Mrs. Boone to our first grade team of teachers this year.I also look forward to meeting my teaching partner...stay tuned! Most of all I am looking forward to a new class of bubbly, bouncy, bursting Firsties! I always get the "back to school" bug, and this year was no different. I think the 2012-2013 school year will be outstanding!

Farewell First Grade! Hello Summer! Look out second grade- HERE WE COME!

Ms. H and I said our final farewell to one of the best first grade classes we have ever had. It was with much excitement, sadness, and pride that we ushered our kiddos out the door to second grade. We had a red carpet award ceremony, complete with a tear-jerking slide show, and a visit from families and Baby Marley. I want to thank each and every student, parent, and Ms. H for helping me through one the most personally unique years of my life, filled with highs and lows, but most importantly the birth of my baby girl! I will always look back at this group of children with a big smile and warm heart. I will sign off now as the tears have started to flow. I look forward to spending a summer with my family and wishing you all a safe and fun summer as well!

With love,

Mrs. Meyers
